What do you do for the business?

I am an Assessor Coach for students studying at all levels with Busec

What is your favourite quote?

“It ain’t over till it’s over” (Yogi Berra – baseball player)

What is your favourite book or movie?

Book; Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers (I’m just an old romantic at heart!), and many movies but ‘Witness’ (1985) with Harrison Ford & Kelly McGillis gets me every time!

What is something people in your industry/niche have to deal with that you want to fix?

Leading others through complex, demanding and ever changing situations that require great wisdom, courage and determination.

What are your credentials/past experience?

My background is in Human Resources, initially in Food Manufacturing, which fitted with my academic training in Nutrition. In the first 10 years of my career, large food factories provided many complex and varied people issues that built my generalist HR experience, as well as a deep understanding of business and what impacts on profitability and growth.

A move to large private Healthcare Company deepened my understanding of sales and marketing and lead me into Organisational Development. A major cultural change project was a notable experience which also introduced me to the power of coaching and its potential to bring about lasting change.

In 2008 I set up my own coaching, mentoring & conflict resolution practice and it has been a privilege to work with a wide range of different organisations across the public, private & charitable sectors. An area of expertise is enabling individuals, teams and organisations to positively manage challenging workplace relationships.

What gives you the most satisfaction within your working life?

Seeing people achieve something that they didn’t think was possible.

If you were a cartoon character which would it be and why?

Mulan is definitely my favourite Disney character and as the mother of two teenage girls, she’s the one I encouraged them to take as a role model! She’s strong, courageous, and takes risks when she sees that the people she cares about are struggling!

What are the values that drive you?

Compassion, integrity, courage & perseverance.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Quality time with people – hearing their stories and sharing their journeys – often involving a dog walk, a cup of tea and occasionally singing!
